SpApp provides an easy-to-use mechanism to export your App’s data in full or one profile at a time, for taking to usage in other systems.

SpApp's Export Feature is fairly detailed one. It exports data found in a profile, based on the conditions provided. These conditions are meant for extraction of suitable data rows. However, the complete Data row is output.

Output Format Options are restricted to three file types, relating to Field Delimiters and Quotes only. SpApp puts Element Names, etc., if required, in Export files. It puts out data of all elements, including hidden elements.

You may need further external processing, before use in other systems. Typically, a CSV output from SpApp can be read into Excel for further processing.

You may Specify a profile and conditions for extraction. Mention the format you want to export.

On successful export of data, the message ‘Export is Successfully done’ is displayed.

The export file is created in the Path specified in the Information screen of the App. If the specified Path is not found the Export process is not done. If no path is specified in the information Screen, the export file is created in the App’s Path.



Q&A: Your Questions are answered by SpApp Experts, below.
Question 1: Is there a limit to the number of Applications that can be specified in a single license of SpApp?
Answer: There is no limit to the number of Applications that can be specified. SpApp stores the logic and data of each application separately. The physical location of each application can be kept in the same folder or different folders. Each Appliction will have its own set of User ID and Password.

Question 2: Is it possible to retrive an Application that was deleted?
Answer: It is not possible to retrive applications that are deleted. If you have taken a backup of the application, you can restore the application from the backup file. To do this, first you need to create a dummy appicaltion with the same name as the one that was deleted. Next using the Restore feature restore the dummy application with the backup file.

Question 3: Will purging old data reset the data in related profiles?
Answer: Purge will only delete data from the selecte profiles. Data from related profiles will not be reset or removed. To remove data from related profile you need to select those profiles and purge the old data.

Question 4: Can we prevent the users from accessing SpecGuide?
Answer: SpecGuide can be accessed only with the Administrator/App Creator's User ID and Password. It is recommended that this User ID and Password is not given to ordinary users of the Application.

Question 5: What is data type of User Defined Info elements?
Answer: The data type for a User Defined Info elements is auto set based on the data stored. Please note the data type cannot be changed after data is entered. SpApp will check and prevent if the modified data is not as per the data type.
